How to get to Cologne?
Cologne (German: Köln) is located in western Germany at the river Rhine

Cologne on Google Maps) and constitutes the economic and cultural capitol of the Rhineland. Cologne is the fourth-largest German city (after Berlin, Hamburg and Munich) with about one million inhabitants and the largest city in North Rhine-Westphalia (one of Germany's sixteen federal states).
Cologne is an important traffic hub and easily reached by plane or train.
Arriving by plane
Participants of ICP2007 from european neighboring countries might want to look for direct flights to Cologne Bonn Airport (CGN), which is nowadays served by large number of european airlines.
Alternatively, you might want to book flights to Düsseldorf Airport (DUS).
Participants from overseas will most likely land at Frankfurt Airport (FRA).
Wherever you arrive, you'll find that the Cologne central station (in German: Köln Hauptbahnhof, typically abbreviated as Köln Hbf is you next destination, e.g. on route to your hotel.
From Cologne airport (CDN) to Cologne central station
Please use on of the following trains:
- commuter train line S13 (direction Horrem)
- local passenger train line RE8 (direction Mönchengladbach)
The typical travel time is about 15 min.
From Düsseldorf airport (DUS) to Cologne central station
Please use on of the following trains:
- local passenger train RE1 (direction Aachen)
- local passenger train RE5 (direction Koblenz)
The typical travel time is about 40 min.
From Frankfurt airport (FRA) to Cologne central station
